So Sony’s newest kick seems to be repackaging multiple PS2 games completely unaltered (save for trophies and an hd gloss) in compilation packages and selling them for slightly more than budget price. Now while this is an seemingly greasy way for them to make money off of the fact that they willingly took backwards compatibility out of the PS3… They’ve actually have done a remarkable job with the “Classics HD” line so far. I’m fucking eating these things up.
God Of War Collection (Contains God of War 1 and 2)Although I think God of War was (and still is) an overrated franchise I was able to rediscover it’s greatness by ignoring all that old hype and sitting down and beating these two back to back on the hard difficulties. Which is the only way to play them because the regular (and lower) difficulties make these games painfully short. I hardly think they’re the system sellers that everybody claims but they’re pretty damn good. Before this point I had never played the second game as I had dismissed the franchise when it had originally come out. But boy was I wrong not to play the second one back then.
The Sly Collection (Contains Sly Cooper 1, 2 and 3)I discovered this franchise with Sly 2. It’s demo was on the disc for Jak 3 (another underrated Sony franchise) and I played the SHIT out of it. At the time I wanted that game bad but nobody had it and by the time I found it (many years later in the bargain bin) I stopped caring. It was a franchise that even back then I was aware was underrated and knowingly didn’t support. It seems people either completely ignored it or had only bothered with a single game in the series. Having played through all 3 of them now it was worth all the admiration it had received and I was out of my mind not to play them for so long.
Tomb Raider Trilogy: (Contains Tomb Raider 7, 8, 9)Lara Croft is basically associated with the shittiest games on the planet. However a new team of guys made the games in this package and somehow turned an ungodly bile into a stack of gold. I was so skeptical at the idea of Lara Croft having a good game that I skipped all these efforts when they came out, but they eventually caught up with me on the PSP and although the portable controls were awful the games were pretty damn good. I have yet to play Underworld at this point but I hear good things.
As of this date a few more titles have been confirmed and are on their way…
Splinter Cell Trilogy (Contains Splinter Cell 1, 2 and 3)
Prince Of Persia Trilogy (Contains Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones)
Team ICO Collection (Contains Shadow of the Colossus and ICO)
Along with a semi-confirmed Resident Evil collection called Resident Evil Revival Selection HD or something like that. This one contains Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code Veronica X. And while these are two games that I’ve been dying to replay I really hope they include more of the PS2 Resident Evils. Like… um… Outbreak? Dead Aim? Actually I guess they pretty much all sucked didn’t they?
Other companies such as Ubisoft are going in a different route by releasing their titles like ‘Beyond Good and Evi HD’ digitally, and I heard talk of “Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath’ going that same route on all the systems even though it’s an Xbox game. All the franchises on my “wish list” have mostly all been pointed out but I’ll list some off anyway.
Rathet and Clank
Jak and Daxter
Metal Gear Solid
Twisted Metal
Onimusha
Silent Hill
Devil May Cry
Zone of the Enders
One that surprisingly I haven’t seen anybody bring up would be…
Clover Studios Collection, which would contain Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 alongside Okami. And if you want you can shove in God Hand as well… but I really don’t care.
Well that’s enough talking about this topic. If anybody else has any better ideas for collection sets let me know.
I sing my own vocal rendition of the Cobra theme song. A show that I never even seen or heard of in my entire life… But if the theme is any indication then I need to get right on that.
These are my imaginary lyrics to the Robocop Television series that I didn’t even know existed until I accidentally bought it.
Here are some screen shots of the Okami sequel ‘Okamiden’ for the DS. See if you notice anything that’s off.

You do realize that you’ll have to stare at a dog’s brown eye for the ENTIRETY of the game, right?
Anyways, updates coming. Hold tight.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

(Except for Alf)
Seriously. Merry Christmas to everybody, Merry Christmas to Thelamest, Merry Christmas to Magnistar, Merry Christmas to the Pretty Little Losers, Merry Christmas to this fun little site, Merry Christmas to other sites I forgot to plug, and movie house, Merry Christmas to you too. I hope nobody ended up getting anything shitty like a Phillips CDI this holiday season.
… I should probably get some kind of a blog roll.
And to further bastardize the season I found out that Santa has a Twitter. Even though it’s the “official” Twitter account of Santa, I don’t see no blue checkmark of certification from Twitter. So I propose that this man is an imposter, but the people on the TV seem to think he’s real. Being on his list for mere hours he already seems to tweet more than Roger Ebert and Kevin Smith combined, so I think I’m gonna unfollow this asshole by the end of the night. I’m not the biggest fan but at least Jesus doesn’t excessively RT or use hashtags.
Again, celebrate the birth of whatever god you praise (even if it isn’t today). Do what ever it is that makes you happy.
